"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." - William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (circa 1590)

 I really enjoy finding the Right Name for things. Below are the myriad words and ideas I had to work with when attempting to title this blog in reference to my Lemurian identity:

  • Rhu: 'Pure' (Hindi); 'point' (derived from the Scots Gaelic 'rubha'; An Rubha is also the name of "a village and historic parish on the east shore of the Gare Loch in Argyll and Bute, Scotland" [Wikipedia]); Return Home Unit (an acronym used in the military); 'grand' (Welsh); 'soul' (Gujarati [spoken primarily in western India]);
  • Sol: The fifth fixed note 'G' of the diatonic musical scale; a monetary unit used in Peru (worth ~68 cents USD); an old French coin an abbreviation for 'soluble,' related to "a fluid colloidal system"; "especially: one in which the medium is a liquid" [Merriam-Webster.com]; a name for the Roman god of the son (aka Helios [Greek] / Phoebes[/Apollo]); a diminutive of the name Solomon; another name for gold, "so called from its brilliancy, color, and value" (Definitions.net); an abbreviation for 'solicitor' / 'solution'; slang for 'strictly' / 'shit out of luck'; an abbreviation for 'spodosol,' a type of soil; a Hebrew name for a disciple meaning 'Peace of God'; an acronym for 'smiling out loud' ("Often more accurate than LOL" [Urban Dictionary]); an acronym for Sluts for Leon, the "Official International All Female Fake Kings of Leon Tribute Band" (Urban Dictionary); bonus: additional acronyms;
  • Ku: Japanese for 'sky,' 'crimson' / 'deep red', 'black,' 'shout,' 'chew,' 'eat,' 'come,' 'due,' 'next,' 'cause,' 'become,' 'nine'; the collective name of four Ku clans from China (Ancestry.com); another name for the Hindu war god, Lord Krishna / Venkateswara / Murugan (MoonAstro.com); Chinese ['gu'] for 'warehouse' / 'storehouse,' '(file) library,' 'high,' 'tall,' 'above average,' 'loud,' 'your (honorific),' 'ancient' / 'old,' 'paleo,' 'to look after,' 'to take into consideration,' 'to attend to,' 'river,' 'grain,' 'corn,' 'valley,' 'mound' (MyChinaRoots.com).
TL;DR: As the number 9 holds a lot of personal significance, as well as its role within many Pagan/Heathen practices, and given my role as a protector of peace and knowledge in Lemuria, The 9th Point seemed a fitting name for a blog dedicated to my various ramblings and remembrances of Mu.
